Melanie McConnaughy (she/her) is a graduate social work student at USC’s Dianne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. She is on the school’s macro-track with a focus on social change and innovation. Prior to matriculating, Melanie worked in crisis response providing COVID-19 testing and vaccinations to people experiencing homelessness throughout Los Angeles County. She then piloted a resource coordination program, bringing holistic benefits, services, and goods to those most impacted by the pandemic. Melanie aims to serve those experiencing homelessness through research- and policy-informed programs after she graduates and make an impact on Los Angeles’s homelessness crisis.
